Keepin' it real since 2004: 20 years of getting stuff done at Apart!
It has been a wild ride but we can officially say that Apart turned 20 this year! We might be in our twenties now, but there is no way we are going to stop now, we have so much more growing left to do as an agency. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to celebrate this milestone.
Humble beginnings
It is the year 2004, Apart is created by two creatives, one with a design background and one with an arts background: Claude Gaasch and Claude Moyen. From their small office in Merl, they created graphic designs and Marketing concepts, and were shortly after joined by Dan Neven, who is one of Apart’s partners today.
In the beginning, the agency was exclusively made up of graphic designers since the internet was still in its starting phase, and print projects were our main source of income. It was only in 2012, with the arrival of Claude Folschette and the recruitment of the first web developer, that Apart became what it is today: a full-service agency with a true digital-first philosophy.
From cultural to digital
It only took a couple of years for Apart to make a name for itself and to become one of the main actors of Luxembourg’s cultural and institutional sector for all things Marketing. Thanks to some big client projects including Kulturjoer 2007, CNA and Centre culturel “Op der Schmelz”', the business was already booming in 2007!
How did we do that, you might wonder. By delivering clean and minimalist yet high-quality design concepts that focused a little less on the visual aspect and more on the concept itself. Each concept was highly elaborate and well thought-out and each graphic element truly made sense.
After several years of cultural concepts, we moved from cultural corporate to digital corporate in 2012. Apart was one of the first agencies in Luxembourg who offered digital services to this extent, and we naturally attracted some bigger, private and institutional clients in response.
One of the projects that helped catapulting us to the top of Luxembourg’s digital agencies, was the design of Spuerkeess’ S-net mobile app.
Several bid solicitation wins later, we managed to land another major project as Spuerkeess entrusted us with the development and the design of their website: spuerkeess.lu. This project helped us gain notoriety on the market and create a long-lasting relationship with Spuerkeess and many new clients. With the growing number of employees, we had to move offices which is why we moved into a new, rented office in 2015.
A new home for Apart
In 2020, we reached equilibrium as a team and company but after two moves, our offices still resembled more a family apartment than a digital hotspot. One of Apart’s milestones was therefore the move from Bertrange to our new headquarters in Mamer.
We brainstormed together as a team and collectively created an office where everyone feels at ease and that simultaneously represents our company values. With this new office and the implementation of some quality of life changes and modern tech applications, we started to feel like nothing could ever stop us and we were able to unleash our full digital potential.
What’s next for Apart
Our corporate values are based on authenticity, transparency and quality of work, so it's vital for us to continue to work with a team and clients that live by these same principles.
We will also continue to constantly develop our digital skills and grow organically as an agency to be able to retain our long-term clients and continue to provide digital excellence to them and elevate their brand experience.
In short, we want to be the digital leader in Luxembourg.
